Brace yourselves for Full Moon Fever: A Tom Petty Tribute Show Tour

I think I had Full Moon Fever when I was growing up. I remember watching a lot of Tom Petty music videos on South African TV stations in the 1990s. We only got MTV & VH1 in 1995, so unfortunately got on a bandwagon a little too late, but at least we got onto it.

I think I first found out who Tom Petty was when my dad cranked up a Traveling Wilburys song on the Toyota Top 20. I remember asking him who these old blokes were and he tried to explain. I saw this bloke with longish blonde hair and wondered who he was.

Over the years I developed a love for Tom Petty’s music. I remember taping the music videos for “Into The Great Wide Open”, “Learning To Fly” and “Last Dance With Mary Jane” in the 1990s. I also watched the shit out of the Tom Petty music video DVD when I bought it in the early 2000’s. I was truly saddened by his passing. The man was truly a legend.

During his career he released 3 Solo Albums and 13 studio albums with his band, The Heartbreakers. The Traveling Wilburys released 2 studio albums.

Great news! Tom Petty may be gone but Blood Brothers will give all those who missed out the chance to rock out live with Full Moon Fever, a celebration of the music of Tom Petty.

The show will see SA rock royalty pay homage to an icon, a rock ‘n roller, a rebel who refused to follow trends or bow down to record labels.
