George Carlin is one of my favorite comedians of all time. He spent more than 40 years doing comedy. He appeared in a whopping 14 HBO specials before he passed away in 2008. He had a reputation as one of the most cynical comedians of all time.
We all deal with stupid people on a regular basis, there’s no doubt about that. You get some really clueless and stupid people out there: People who refer to the original Bohemian Rhapsody as “a terrible cover version of the song the heard on Glee” , people who make Snooki from Jersey Shore their role model, people who think that Neil Armstrong and Lance Armstrong are the same person and people who get suckered into the boredom that is shows like Survivor and Master Chef (just to name of two of them).
The fact is, there’s nothing REAL about reality TV, it’s all bullshit. These people should talk a brisk walk outside and smell the fresh air (that’s REAL by the way) and realize that every time they watch an episode of Jersey Shore a book dies.
George Carlin did a skit about Stupid People back in 1996 during his Back in Town set. It’s one of my favorite bits of stand-up comedy of all time. He just had a way to point out the truth. Not many people can do this in this day and age. He may have used a lot of explicit language in his sets, but he spoke the truth and that’s all that matters to me. Check out the clip below.
What do you think of this George Carlin clip? Truth or Not? Leave a comment and let me know.
In case you don’t know who Dan Quale was, he was the Vice President of the USA during the Bush Administration (from 1989 to 1993).
