Ghostbusters 3 is in the works. The world just found this out yesterday, but the good news is that there’s already a teaser trailer for it!
Entertainment Weekly revealed that the film will be directed by Jason Reitman (who has directed Up in the Air and Juno). He’s the son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman.
Jason Reitman had the following to say about Ghostbusters 3
“This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”
There’s no confirmation that the original cast members will be appearing in the film, but Reitman also said that fans can expect “wonderful surprises and new characters.” The main female cast of the 2016 film won’t be appearing in Ghostbusters 3 though.
Thank goodness! The 2016 reboot was entertaining but this wasn’t what the franchise needed. I think that Reitman has chosen the right path.
Info about the teaser trailer
In the Ghostbusters 3 teaser trailer we hear some familiar music and noises. We also see Ecto-I in a barn. Not much else is revealed in the 45 second clip, but I’m definitely intrigued and excited.
Filming is expected to start later this year and the film will be released in 2020. I think it’s a great time to start charging your proton packs folks. Check out the Ghostbusters 3 teaser trailer below…
Do you think that Mister Reitman is on the right path with this film? Are you going to make an effort to check this out when it’s released or are you going to give it a skip? Leave a comment below and let me know.
