After watching the Koos Kombuis set at the Wesley’s Dome stage at Oppikoppi 2013 Bewilderbeast on the Friday I was floating from stage to stage to enjoy awesome some entertaining performances by Matthew Mole, Gangs of Ballet, Finley Quaye, Shadowclub, Tumi Modekane, Die Heuwels Fantasties and Bittereinder. Eventually it was time for Jack Parow to play on the James Philips Main stage. Despite media reports of him being arrested, South Africa’s premium Afrikaans rapper made his way on time for his show.
After being introduced by Captain Morgan the Oppikoppi crowd were treated to one damn awesome performance by Jack Parow and his band. He played most of the songs that has made him one of the best selling Afrikaans artists in the country. It was also also to see him collaborating with Francois Van Coke (Fokofpolisiekar & Van Coke Kartel) and Die Heuwels Fantasties. I was one of the privileged few who were allowed to photograph him during his set. This close-up photo of Jack Parow at Oppikoppi 2013 Bewilderbeast has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 21st of November 2013.
