Jägermeister SA at Back To The City 2013 (Video)

Back To The City 2013 was held in Johannesburg on Freedom Day and featured dance crews, a basket ball park, a skater’s lane, food and clothing stalls and two different performance stages featuring performances by Tumi from Tumi and the Volume, Proverb, Zuluboy, H20, Siya Shezi, iFani and Maxhoseni.

According to Sowetan Live “Hip-Hop is a genre of music that addresses social ills, celebrates the good life and brings about messages of unity. It is a genre that is mainly misunderstood as some of its lyric may contain profanity, with music videos that show gyrating women.” I have to admit that is an accurate assessment of the genre, but I’m not a big fan of hip-hop, although I suppose it’s a much more interesting genre than Afrikaans Pop music.

The awesome folks from Jägermeister SA visited Back to The City this year and shot this awesome video at the festival (which lured 17,000 people to the Newtown district in the Johannesburg CBD). It was the 7th time that this festival was held.

While I was watching this Back To The City video I had the urge to start bouncing. The music almost had the same effect on me that Bittereinder’s tunes have. I’m pretty sure it had the same effect on you as well. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Not my style of music, but sjees, looks like an awesome party.
Then again, where there’s Jagermeister, how can you not have a good time?
