Joy Club Cassidy Cassidy Release New Single: “Stronger”

Joy Club Cassidy Cassidy’s latest single, “Stronger” was released alongside a brand new music video on the 20th November 2021. It’s a look at the struggles that none of us are exempt from these last couple of months. From the glaringly obvious (the pandemic), to the more “tailored” of circumstantial hardships (power failures).

    More info about “Stronger”

“Stronger” is the kind of “feel-good”, get up and change the world anthem that involves the listener heavily. The song starts off slowly and conveys the feeling of hopelessness we all feel… until the riff comes in and the second verse states, “it’s a give and a take and we’re not gonna take anymore”, and then the chorus hits you with the sense that when we all stand together, we can bring about change.

The song is the 18th track off of the upcoming 22 track album set to release in February of 2022. Self produced and recorded by the band of which all the production is handled by their own Kyle Botha – Lead guitarist of Joy Club Cassidy Cassidy.

“We just can’t wait for everyone to listen to what we made, we think it’s pretty cool” Joy Club Cassidy Cassidy

The video for “Stronger” was conceptualized, shot, directed and edited by Russell McCallaghan, who has been working closely with the band recently. Mr McCallaghan of course having worked with most of the heavyweights in the South African Metal scene of which Vulvodynia being one of the biggest, was given the upcoming 22 track album so that he could choose which one he wanted to do a video for. He felt he wanted to do the video for Stronger immediately and went to work on the concept.

In the video we see Jordan Redcage being woken up by a rather small tv, then exclaiming how bad things have been lately, followed by various shots of the other members in situations that feel familiar and uncomfortable.

Whether it’s a bad first date, a dismal work situation or the need to impress or please someone in our lives, we all have these moments and in the video the band decides to take that “leap of faith” and break free from that which holds us back because the chance to change our lives might pass us by. Something we are all much more familiar with lately.

Jordan Redcage comments on the video for “Stronger”

“We couldn’t be more blessed to be working with someone like Russell, his vision tied into the meaning and “feel” of the song, while still keeping a bit of humor amongst the melancholy.”

In a world full of arguments between vaxxers and anti-vaxxers, pending hard lockdowns and other annoying sh*t, Joy Club Cassidy Cassidy is a breath full of fresh punk rock occupied air. I am curious to find out what their upcoming album is going to sound like when it’s released.

More info about Joy Club Cassidy Cassidy

Joy Club Cassidy Cassidy is: Jordan Redcage (lead singer/rhythm guitarist), Kyle Botha (lead guitar/backup), Brandon Botha (bassist/backup) and Ricardo Labuschagne (drums). They formed in 2017 and have been busy playing in and around the Gauteng music scene as well as recording and producing their own EP’s and an upcoming 22 track album.

Their sound is an unabashed ode to all things punk… fast, satirical, political, emotional, fun and serious.
When speaking the truth, highlighting evils and coming to terms with realities that have been missing in our society of late, Joy Club Cassidy Cassidy is driven by a need to be heard. Although fun is at the core of every decision made.
