It’s time for your weekly Geekasm, so prepare yourselves. Yesterday the second trailer for Suicide Squad was released and it’s totally amazing.
Suicide Squad is an upcoming superhero film based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name. The film will feature appearances by Will Smith, Jared Leto (who looks very scary as “The Joker”), Australian actress Margot Robbie (who has appeared in The Wolf of Wall Street and Focus), Joel Kinnaman (who appeared in the 2014 version of RoboCop) and Viola Davis (who has appeared in Blackhat and Ender’s Game). It’s written and directed by David Ayer (who also wrote and directed 2014’s Fury and Sabotage).
The film tells the story of a secret government agency which recruits imprisoned super-villains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency. This is the third live-action version of the Suicide Squad – it had previously appeared in Smallville (2001) and Arrow (2012). This will be the third installment in the DC Extended Universe, following 2013’s Man of Steel and 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The film will be released in the USA on the 6th of August 2016. Judging by the trailer below, it’s going to be one amazing ride. PS: Kanye West, this is HOW Bohemian Rhapsody is supposed to sound.
So, what do you think? Does Suicide Squad get a thumbs up or a thumbs down? Feedback is appreciated and welcome here.
