Nike, the sportswear and sport equipment manufacturer, has released a new football advert ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup (which kicks off at Soccer City in Johannesburg on the 11th of June). Nike was actually founded as Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964 and the company was renamed to Nike Inc in 1978. The advert features Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, Christiano Ronaldo and a few other world class footballers.
I’m sure that the fans will be expecting great goals from these players in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It’s definately one of the best adverts I’ve seen in 2010. It’s hard to believe that the 2010 FIFA World Cup will start in less than 30 days.
I never thought that South Africa would host the world’s biggest sporting event featuring teams from 32 countries in my lifetime. The whole of South Africa is getting geared up for the tournament. Let’s hope nothing goes wrong and that we host one of the most memorable FIFA World Cup tournaments in the history of football.
