No One’s Arc on stage @ Up The Creek 2012

After watching Shadowclub play an excellent set at Up The Creek 2012 on the Bacardi Main Stage it was No One’s Arc’s turn to entertain the crowd. For those of you who did not know, No One’s Arc are a 6 piece band from Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. They have been around for more than a decade and have played at multiple Up The Creek festivals. The band consists of Dylan Bolton (on vocals and guitar), Robby Johns (on drums), Lee Nicholls (on bass guitar), Bongani Mavundla (on trumpet & trombone), Phinda ‘Goofy’ Magagula (on trombone & keyboard) and Milicent Mthethwa (on backing vocals). They played an extremely vibey set at Up the Creek 2012 which I could only describe as a “Tidal Waves set with a bit more umf”. I was impressed. It was the first time that I saw No One’s Arc perform and it gives me pride to say that SA Music seems to be alive and well in Mpumalanga as well. Judging by the band’s announcements on stage during their set it sounds like they’ll be moving to Cape Town soon. So Western Cape folk, be on the lookout for them in the future. I snapped this photo of No One’s Arc on stage at Up The Creek 2012 and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 1st of March 2012.
