When it comes to your monthly budget, entertainment is not a necessity. Yet it is comforting to have something to enjoy in your leisure time, such as watching a movie or playing games.
Thus, if you can reduce your entertainment budget you can still have enjoyment, but also manage to create more disposable income for other things.
Here are 3 money-saving hacks for online entertainment
1. Use Bonus Codes
You can use bonus codes to save money on all sorts of items on the internet. There are two ways to find them. Start by signing up for the email lists of companies you want to use or purchase products from.
They should then send you them regularly to entice you into making a purchase. The second option is to search online. Very often, people will post codes on forums or in social media groups.
Some websites and entertainment products will advertise them specifically to new customers. This is particularly useful if you are thinking about doing online sports betting or playing casino games.
Vegas casino online bonus codes offer plenty of value for new players. Here, you can claim a 250% new player bonus on sign-up. This allows you to play without using your own bankroll for a short period of time.
2. Use Trial Codes
There are now so many streaming entertainment services to choose from in South Africa, it can be hard to keep up. It is also extremely frustrating if you want to watch a show on a platform that you don’t subscribe to.
Thus, chopping and changing between them is a great way to see everything you want. And it does not have to cost you an arm and a leg.
Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ all operate in the country and they will all give you a free trial. In some cases, it may limit what you can and can’t view though this is rare and usually only in small amounts.
You will get a month to watch what you want, after which it will turn into a rolling subscription. Remember to turn this off or put a note in your diary to cancel so you don’t get charged. You can then move on to another service for the next month.
3. Check Your Price Plans
Most major suppliers of online entertainment will now have tiered price plans. This means you may be paying for a bigger service than the one you need.
Start by looking at the mobile network and internet you consume entertainment on. You may be using a lot less than you are paying for, in which case you can downsize. This will save you a lot of money in the long term and can apply to internet or mobile tariffs.
Keep in mind that some services such as Netflix also have tiered price plans. This means you can watch them but you may see ads. This can save money as well if you do want to keep the service. Should you be outside South Africa and use videogame services like PS Network, then this can also apply.
Some of these may save you a lot of money and some may not apply at all. Take a few minutes to look through your budget and see what you can use to save money on entertainment costs. Over a year, this expenditure will add up.
