This is my Aidan Martin Interview. He’s one of the artists who will be jamming at Park Acoustics this coming Sunday (the 27th of October 2019) in Pretoria.
We chatted about this weekend’s edition and a few other things. This is what he had to say…
What has Aidan Martin been up to lately?
I’m excited to be working on a new album. I’ve already started…..no release date yet. I’m heading to Tanzania in November, so hopefully I can also collaborate with some musicians from there again.
Last year I wrote a song called ‘Bagamoyo’ with Msafiri Zawose, featuring Graham Ward on drums, which turned out great. This album is going to be very diverse and I’m excited to have played with such great musicians already. You’ll have to wait a while hehehe
What are your thoughts on the current state of the SA Music Scene?
It’s not easy but I’m not focused on it. I Love music and I keep moving forward, learning and trying to become a better artist.
If you could create a Blues Supegroup made up out of SA Musos, who would be in that band?
I think that Jorik Pienaar, Jonathan Tait and Wouter Reyneke would be good candidates.
What comes to mind when Aidan Martin thinks of Park Acoustics?
Good Times!
What can we expect from Aidan Martin’s set at Park Acoustics this weekend?
I don’t want to give away much so people will have to come to the show.
I’d like to thank Aidan Martin for this interview and I wish him all of the best with his set Park Acoustics this weekend and his future musical endeavors. If you don’t have tickets to Sunday’s show yet, get them HERE.
You can also catch Aidan Martin and his brother Johnathan at the JARR Bar & Restaurant in Pretoria on Saturday. They’ll be doing a Neil Young Tribute show.
