It’s Park Acoustics Competition time. This premium one day festival is happening again on the 28th of July 2019 at Fort Schanskop in the 012. This edition features a great line-up of local artists.
Brace yourselves for legendary performances by Shortstraw, Desmond & the Tutus, Van Pletzen, The World of Birds, Moonga K. and The Lebowski.
More info about the artists for this edition
Shortstraw need no introduction. They are a band from Joburg. They make music. Music that sounds like someone blowing on a cup of tea that’s too hot or like a pot of bolognese bubbling in the background.
Desmond & The Tutus (who also need no introduction) have been scare-crowing across the world’s stages with their unique, some might call it niche, brand of kwela-indie-punk for more than 14 years.
Van Pletzen is hier om kak lekke vibes te deel met almal op die aarde se bol! For the English folks reading this: “Van Pletzen are heres to share their shit fun vibes with everyones on the Earth bolls” – I hope this makes sense.
The World of Birds are a band from Cape Town, South Africa. I don’t know much about them, but I’m sure they’re going to bring a lekker vibe this edition of Park Acoustics.
Moonga K. is a twenty two-year old Zambian-born, Botswana-raised & Johannesburg-based Alternative Soul singer-songwriter. He really likes donuts.
The Lebowski hail from the 012 and have been making waves in the SA Music Scene over the last couple of years.
