On the 24th of February I made my way to Park Acoustics at Fort Schanskop near the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria. It was a fun day with friends, Berocca fueled Soco and Lemon Twist, Jack Daniels Honey, lovely ladies and awesome comedy.
This was the 2nd time that Park Acoustics was held this year and like the first one all the tickets were sold out. Close to 2,000 people attended what has become one of Pretoria’s premier musical events. Lise Chris and her band blew the crowd away with their unique style of lyrically powered rock ‘n roll, Durban rockers the Cat Like Thieves entertained the crowd with their energetic blend of guitar powered rock, Matthew Mole crawled into the crowd’s souls, Wrestlerish had the crowd singing along in no time and Yoav showed the crowd what a musical maestro he is.
This edition of Park Acoustics was extra special because it was actually held on my birthday. It was nice bumping into a lot of my awesome friends and a huge chunk of the Pretoria Twitterati. Kudos to Niel, Henk, Willie and everyone else involved in the days proceedings, you all rock!
