This past weekend I attended Vanfokkingtasties in Hatfield Square in Pretoria. I was in Hatfield at 4 PM on Saturday afternoon and decided to warm up with a few beers at Aandklas. After watching the 2nd half of the match between the Sharks and the Cheetahs and the match between the Lions and the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup I hastily made my way to the square for the show. Hatfield Square was packed to the max and the vibe was absolutely amazing.
Die Heuwels Fantasties, Van Coke Kartel, aKING and Fokofpolisiekar all played excellent shows. The crowd (of more than 5,000 people) were singing along to most of their songs. During the course of the evening I met quite a few Twitter peeps (@bangersandnash, @NatalieRoos, @stormin_ @stevieza and @Awhelady), bumped into @wasbeer and @JannieKotze, drank a few beers, enjoyed some brilliant South African music and generally had a good time. Vanfokkingtasties was genuinely Vanfokkingtasties (or Funfuckingtastic for those who do not know what that term means).
Here are some photos that I took at Vanfokkingtasties in Hatfield Square
