Pirate Fest 2019: 3 Local Acts added to the line-up

Earlier this year The Kraken is Alive announced that Alestorm would be making their way to Pirate Fest 2019. 3 local acts have also been added to the line-up.

Pirate Fest 2019 is happening at Marks Park in Johannesburg on the 7th of September. The event is set to be one of the largest themed music and alcohol festivals in the Southern Hemisphere.

Besides the Scottish Pirate Metal Kings Alestorm, live-music-loving scallywags can look forward to performances by 3 great South African bands!

The following local acts have been announced for Pirate Fest 2019:

1. Tweak

These legendary punk rockers are known for songs like “Britney Spears” and “Birthday Card”. They don’t play that many shows nowadays, but when they do play a show they give it their all. I’m curious to see what Garth Barnes and the Tweak boys will get up to. Maybe they’ll surprise us with an “Argh” Meter? Who knows?

2. Fuzigish

These pirates have “sailed” to almost every music festival in South Africa and now they’ll be making their way to Pirate Fest 2019. They are veterans of the SA Punk & Rock scene know how to get a party started. Just ask anyone who has been to a Fuzigish show.

3. Hellcats

If you’re a regular reader of Running Wolf’s Rant and you don’t know who Hellcats are, there might just be something wrong with you. This two piece SAMA25 nominated garage rock band will be melting your faces off at Pirate Fest 2019. Drink lots of rum and headbang to ease the burn.

Quest to Pirate Fest Pre-Party Info

If you are a thirsty scallywag / hag in the mood for a Pre-Party, get your arse to Soirée in Johannesburg on the 31st of May 2019. There will be a special treat for the ladies as the Pulse Dancers bring a booty invasion the likes you have never seen.

After the Pulse show, doors will be opened to all and you’ll be entertained by Captain Renegade and his crew, playing games, winning prizes and jamming out to 3 of South Africa’s coolest bands… Pirate Fest style.

Slippery When Wet, Go The Rodeo and Hellcats will be jamming at the event and the Helmsman (MC / Host) for Pirate Fest 2019 will be revealed.
