Great Scott! It’s the 21st of October 2015 and if you grew up during the 1980’s, you’ll remember that is the date that Back to the Future’s Marty McFly and Doctor Emmett Brown arrive in the future.
Social Media networks went completely nuts today. Tons of videos and photos were posted to celebrate their “arrival” and it didn’t take long for the #BackToTheFuture hashtag trended globally. Here are some of the tweets that I’ve spotted today:
Seriously, it's 2015 — let's build a clean energy future.

Think how lame #BackToTheFuture would have been if they knew what October 21, 2015 was really going to be like. pic.twitter.com/eTjka8tgR2

'Today's the day all your dreams come true' she said, unzipping her dress.
'Wow!' he gulped 'Flying cars and hoverboards?'

Sadly scientists have not developed 100% working hoverboards, rehydrated pizza or flying cars yet, but anything is possible, like Doc Brown said in his message this morning “Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one”.
The Back To The Future trilogy will always be one of my favorite film franchises and I’m pretty sure that it will continue to entertain people for many years to come. Let’s just hope Hollywood doesn’t fudge it up with a crappy reboot (and I don’t think they will, director Robert Zemeckis said no to that recently).
