Great news! American rock band Portugal. The Man will be opening for Paolo Nutini at Sowing the Seeds Music Festival at Emmarentia Dam on the 21st of March 2015. The indie group has graced the stages of Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza (to name a few) and will also be performing for one night only in Cape Town at Kirstenbosch Gardens on Friday the 20th of March 2015.
Portugal. The Man’s latest album Evil Friends, was produced by Danger Mouse, the five-time Grammy award-winning producer behind everything from Gnarls Barkley and Beck to The Black Keys and now U2 and features melodic tracks like “Modern Jesus” and anthems like “Smile.” Each track on Evil Friends is as different from the next as Portugal. The Man’s previous records were from each other, which is to say a piece of a growing mindscape, and wholly a part of the group’s tumbling fever dream.
The organisers of Sowing the Seeds, Seed Experiences were also excited to announce local band Diamond Thug, as the final addition to the Sowing the Seeds lineup! They will share the stage with loveable Desmond and the Tutu’s, Shortstraw (now with a number one iTunes album under their belt), the soulful Bongeziwe Mabandla, Portugal. The Man and Scottish singer songwriter Paolo Nutini. The talented Desmond and the Tutu’s were also chosen as the opening act for Portugal. The Man in Cape Town.

Update: Portugal. The Man’s show in Cape Town at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens has been unavoidably rescheduled from Friday 20th March to Wednesday 25th of March. This is due to a mechanical fault with the airplane, on route to SA, which was forced to make an emergency landing.
Although this means that the indie-rockers will not be able to make it in time for their scheduled performance on Friday night, they will still be joining Joburg fans at Sowing the Seeds Music and Lifestyle Festival this Saturday, the 21st of March, as scheduled.
If you have bought tickets for the Cape Town show for this Friday the 20th of March, they are still valid for the new show date. Fans who cannot make the new show date are able to get a refund by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org before Tuesday the 24th of March at midday.
Seed Experiences is relieved the band is okay and apologizes for any inconvenience caused to fans, but still looks forward to a mind-blowing and world-class performance from the American band, supported by Desmond and the Tutus, next week!
