The SAITC provides a professional platform for tattoo artists to display their work, inspiring South African artists to grow and evolve in their craft by sharing knowledge and exchanging best practices with artists from all over the world.
The convention features a diverse range of styles and over 140 top-notch tattoo artists from 22 different countries, including Austin Maples, Waldo Del Rocca, Daniele Scafati, Squid Yu, Bob Geerts, and more.
At #SAITC2023, expect a full experience, whether you’re a tattoo enthusiast or a curious bystander. The 3-day convention offers live entertainment, food and drinks, and opportunities to get tattooed by the world’s best artists. Everyone is welcome, including children, to be part of a vibrant and inspiring community.
Getting a tattoo at the convention is easy with its “walk-up” culture. You can approach an artist on the spot, or pre-book by contacting them directly via the website. If you don’t receive a response, consider buying a weekend pass and chatting with the artists upon arrival. With over 100 tattooers to choose from, you’re sure to find the perfect one for you.
The convention will take place at two exciting venues: The Lookout at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town and 1Fox in Newtown, Johannesburg. The Lookout provides a bright and welcoming space with indoor and outdoor areas for activations, exhibitions, food, and live music, while 1Fox is a historic warehouse in Johannesburg’s inner-city, offering a luxurious and unique setting.
Join the SAITC community and experience the best in tattooing and all it encompasses. For more info, check out their website or follow them on Facebook or Instagram.
“Good vibes only!” says Romy van Tonder, SAITC Organizer.
