Great Scott! A Hilarious South African KFC FIFA World Cup advert has gone viral! The advert has had more than 2.2 million views on YouTube and counting.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup is in full swing and brands all over the world are tapping into it. Eager to get their slice of the pie, KFC South Africa published the hilarious advert on YouTube on the 2nd day of the tournament (the 15th of June 2018).
This South African KFC FIFA World Cup advert features a football player being tackled and then dramatically falling to the ground and holding his knee. The football player (which looks a lot like Brazil’s Neymar), throws up his hands and starts rolling until he reaches a KFC.
Brazil’s Neymar made headlines for all the wrong reasons as has took the ‘fake an injury’ act to a new level in Russia. The Brazilian striker was mocked on almos every social media network for rolling around on the floor in agony in match between Brazil and Mexico in the 2018 FIFA world Cup.
Because of this, the #NeymarChallenge hashtag trended on social media and this caused a spike in views for the South African KFC FIFA World Cup advert on different platforms.
Besides the over 2 million views on YouTube, the advert has also reached more than 700,000 views on Twitter. The advert was also posted on 9GAG’s Instagram account and reached more than 3.5 million views and 60,000+ likes. There were also 13,000 comments on that Instagram post.

This is one of the funniest adverts that I’ve seen in years. In case you did not know, Brazil was knocked out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup last weekend by Belgium, so I guess that Neymar rolled on home by now. Maybe someone should check if he’s okay?
