Spotify’s Wrapped 2018: Let’s you relive your year in music

For the first time in South Africa, Spotify is launching a Wrapped microsite – the site links to your Spotify profile and gives you access to your personal streaming data. Rediscover and share the music that made up your personal track list in 2018.

How to access Spotify’s Wrapped

All you have to do to gain access is click on the Wrapped site here, sign in with the Spotify account details and you’re ready to go.

You’ll be able to scroll through information that details the first song or podcast you listened to, who and what  your most streamed artist and song was, how many minutes you streamed for this year and more.

At the end of it, you’ll get your wrapped data consolidated into a share card (image attached)  that you can put up on your social media pages and WhatsApp.

Based on streaming patterns, Wrapped also gives you some suggestions on what you should be listening to. If you’re still trying to figure out what songs to add to your Summer playlist – rediscover some forgotten favourites and relive your year in music.

My experience of Spotify’s Wrapped 2018

According to Wrapped, I streamed music on Spotify for more than 30,000 minutes in 2018 – That’s more than 500 hours (more than 20 days).

Because I listened to 10 hours of Lewis Black’s stand-up comedy a few months ago, he is considered by Spotify to be my favorite artist. Other favorites include Eminem (thanks to my girlfriend who really loves the guy), Fokofpolisiekar, Foo Fighters & The Black Keys.

According to Spotify’s Wrapped, my 5 favourite songs in 2018 were Jefferson Airplane‘s “White Rabbit”, MISSIO‘s “Middle Fingers”, Buffalo Springfield‘s “For What It’s Worth”, Alex Lahey’s “Everyday’s the Weekend” and Linkin Park‘s “In The End”.

Wrapped created two playlists for me: My Top 100 songs of 2018 and Tastebreakers (featuring songs from genres that I don’t usually explore). I’m loving both of them.

Interesting, right? What are you waiting for? Click here to see what Spotify’s Wrapped says about your music listening habits. Alternatively, find out what the (Spotify) world was listening to in 2018 HERE.
