Great news! The Star Wars Episode IX teaser trailer has arrived. The film will be called The Rise of Skywalker.
The teaser trailer was unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration convention in Chicago yesterday. The movie will be released in theaters in December 2019. Star Wars Episode IX will conclude the saga that started in 1977.
Director JJ Abrams has said that the film takes place some time after the events of the 2017 film The Last Jedi. He didn’t reveal much about the plot, but said “This movie is about this new generation, what they’ve inherited, the light and the dark, and are they ready?”
It seems that the whole gang is back together in Star Wars Episode IX. Carrie Fischer still appears in the film because JJ Abrams made use of unused footage from The Force Awakens.
In the teaser trailer we see a hug between Princess Leia (played by the late Carrie Fisher) and Rey (Daisy Ridley). We also catch a glimpse of Lando Calrissian in the Millenium Falcon. The teaser trailer also features Luke Skywalker’s voice and glimpses of CP30. You also hear Emperor Palpatine‘s evil laugh at the end of it.

This film is definitely one of the most anticipated movies of 2019 and I’m hoping that it won’t be a let-down. It doesn’t like it will be though.
