More about Steyn Entertainment’s Initiative
The initiative will see up to ten successful applicants receive a sponsored office space for a full year in collaboration with Steyn Entertainment’s Market Up compound; a progressive workspace development based in the vibrant precinct of Maboneng, Johannesburg. Applicants will additionally be featured in a video series showcasing their business to help uplift their company even further.
Termed “the creative hub of Maboneng”, Market Up is currently home to a range of robust businesses across the creative spectrum, including avante garde clothing collective Art on Denim, nationally awarded SonWaro Coffee, and postmodern African formal wear innovators Port of LNG, among others. The building is also host to the studio of celebrated South African contemporary artist Tumi Khalipha who is represented by Steyn Entertainment owned STAY LOW.
Of the initiative, director of Steyn Entertainment, Dale de Ruig has this to say
“During a time that has tested so many creatives and ravaged South African businesses, Steyn Entertainment felt impelled to do what it could to support the sector on which the business had been founded. As a company, we feel strongly that every creative deserves the opportunity to grow their vision and to show the world what they can do with just a little help and faith in their work.” He adds, “This project is very close to our heart. We are looking forward to collaborating with all the amazing creatives out here.”
Applications officially opens today (the 19th of August 2021) and will close at 17:00 on the 15th of September 2021. All business owners and creatives wishing to apply can visit the Steyn Entertainment website.
