Am I excited about this? You bet I am, I still remember seeing The Cure‘s “freaky” and “scary” music videos on television in the 1980s and 1990s.
Who are The Cure again?
The Cure is one of the most iconic rock bands of all time. They’ve been around since 1976 and to date they’ve released 13 studio albums. The band released their debut album (“Three Imaginary Boys”) in 1979. Their last studio album release was 2008’s “4:13 Dream”.
To date The Cure have released 37 singles, including the smash hits Friday I’m In Love, Lullaby, Close to Me, Love Song, Boys Don’t Cry, The Lovecats, Let’s Go To Bed, Just Like Heaven and many others.
Frontman Robert Smith announced in April of his year that The Cure were heading into the studio to record a new album with plans to release it in 2019. He said “It’s the 40th anniversary of the first album in 2019. I thought, If I don’t have something out new that year, that’s it for me. I don’t think The Cure will ever release another album.”
What exactly is Rock on the Lawns?
Rock on the Lawns is a one-day celebration of rock music in all its forms. A beautiful day out on the lawns with beer gardens, gourmet food trucks, ample parking and facilities, and an incredible line-up of local and international musicians all sharing one magnificent stage.
