Over the years there have been tons of alternate casting choices for some of our favorite films. This concept is not uncommon in Hollywood – it happens all the time. For example: The Avengers cast could have looked something like this… Pretty damn freaky if you ask me… Thanks goodness Tom Cruise wasn’t cast as Ironman.
Did you know that Sylvester Stallone was almost cast in the leading role in The Terminator, Matthew Modine could have been Maverick in Top Gun, Jim Carrey was almost cast Shaggy in Scooby Doo, Arnold Schwarzenegger was almost cast as John Maclaine in Die Hard, Michael J. Fox was considered for the leading role in Tim Burton’s 1989 film Batman, Eddie Murphy was almost cast as Candyman, Anthony Hopkins was almost cast as Jor-el in Superman Returns, Richard Dreyfuss was almost cast as Quaid in 1990’s Total Recall and Michelle Pfeiffer was almost cast as Clarice Sterling in Silence of the Lambs?
Seems unreal to think that some of these actors were considered for these roles and in most cases I’m extremely glad that it didn’t happen. I really can’t imagine Richard Dreyfuss in Total Recall or Michael J. Fox as Batman… The awesome folks at WatchMojo.com posted their top 10 list for Alternate Casting Choices in film today, check it out below:
