Van Coke Kartel have released a music video for “Ondier Kom!” – and it’s a beauty. I’m pretty sure that many of you rock ‘n roll fans reading this article will love it.
More info about Van Coke Kartel
Afrikaans rockers Van Coke Kartel were definitely one of the most active live acts of 2010 (in my opinion). They are also one of my favorite South African bands. Their 3rd album Skop, Skiet & Donner was released in the first half of last year. I watched them play 3 kick-arse gigs in 2010. One at Oppikoppi Sexy. Crooked. Teeth in August, one at Vanfokkingtasties in Hatfield Square in September and one at Tuks FM Motherle$$ at the Voortrekker Monument on New Year’s Eve.
Most of the South African public has not properly gotten into 2011 yet, but that has not stopped these Cape Town rockers from playing a few gigs in January. 3 gigs have been lined up for the Western Cape. The band will be playing at Aandklas in Stellenbosch on the 25th of January, at the Rock Room in Stellenbosch on the 26th of January and at Tollies Square in Stellenbosch on the 29th of January.
Van Coke Kartel will also play at the PUK Campus Invasion in Potchefstroom on the 31st of January. They are also named in the line-up for the Where BLUES Meets ROCK festival which is scheduled for the weekend of the 25th of February 2011 on a farm near Bronkhorstspruit. Van Coke Kartel has also been named as one of the 2011 MK Awards Nominees.
The music video for Ondier Kom! was directed by Louis Minnaar (who has directed music videos for Van Coke Kartel and Die Heuwels Fantasties in the past and is also a member of upcoming Afrikaans Rap outfit Bittereinder). I attended the the music video launch gig at Tings an’ Times in middle December last year and was truly impressed by this video. The music video has been added to the MK playlist in recent times.
