April 2019 is here and Netflix is releasing some content this month that will most likely make this month less boring than it could be.
Here’s a list of great titles coming to Netflix in April 2019
Ultraman – A Netflix Original Anime series
With aliens once again threatening Earth, young Shinjiro must now don the metallic ultra-suit to become Ultraman, just like his father before him. I think this show is going to be action-packed. It was released on Netflix on the 1st of April 2019.
Kevin Hart: Irresponsible – A Netflix Original Stand-up Comedy Special
Kevin Hart flips his shortcomings into big laughs in a new stand-up special. Expect topics ranging from marital missteps to dangerous thrills in Aspen. This might just be one of the most talked about stand-up comedy events of 2019.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 2 – A Netflix Original Series
Part 2 finds Sabrina exploring her darker side, curious to learn more about her heritage, while struggling to maintain her friendships in the mortal world. Sabrina is also caught up in an unholy love triangle between the sexy warlock Nicholas Scratch and the salt-of-the-Earth mortal Harvey Kinkle.
Meanwhile, The Dark Lord, Madame Satan and Father Blackwood continue to conjure chaos in the Spellman household and the town of Greendale. And they aren’t the only ones trying to raise hell.
Everything is in question… relationships, identity, true intentions… when the devil’s work is at hand. Part 2 of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be released on the 5th of April 2019.
Unicorn Store – A Netflix Original Film
After failing out of art school and taking a humdrum office job, a whimsical painter gets a chance to fulfill her lifelong dream of adopting a unicorn.
Yes. I know that unicorns aren’t real, but it could be fun to have one though. Check out Unicorn Store when it’s released on Netflix on the 5th of April.
You vs. Wild – Netflix Original Series
In this interactive adventure series, Bear Grylls travels to the harshest environments on Earth and asks viewers to make important survival decisions.
I don’t really like Bear Grylls, but this sounds like Survivor meets Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. This might just be interesting to watch.
Black Summer – A Netflix Original Series
In the dark, early days of a zombie apocalypse, complete strangers band together to find the strength they need to survive and get back to loved ones.
I’m definitely looking forward to this Zombie series (which is said to be playing off in the World War Z universe). This series definitely has to be potential to be a great one. Save the date! Black Summer will be released on Netflix on the 11th of April.
The Silence – A Netflix Original Film
When the world is under attack from terrifying creatures who hunt their human prey by sound, teenager Ally Andrews (Kiernan Shipka), who lost her hearing as a child, and her family seek refuge in a remote haven.
But they discover a sinister cult who are eager to exploit Ally’s heightened senses. The Silence is directed by John Leonetti (who brought us Annabelle) and stars Stanley Tucci, Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, John Corbett, Kate Trotter and Kyle Breitkopf. The Silence will be released on Netflix on the 12th of April.
ReMastered: Devil at the Crossroads – A Netflix Original Documentary
Robert Johnson was one of the most influential blues guitarists ever. Even before his early death, fans wondered if he’d made a pact with the Devil.
Many Rock musicians have credited Robert Johnson as an important influence. The blues and rock musician Eric Clapton has called Johnson “the most important blues singer that ever lived.”
This documentary should be on your to-watch list if you’re a fan of the blues. Check it out when it’s released on the 26th of April 2019.
Chambers – A Netflix Original Series
A young heart attack survivor becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased. Some of these characteristics which are troublingly sinister.
The series will feature performances by Uma Thurman, Sivan Alyra Rose, Griffin Powell-Arcand, Nicholas Galitzine, Tony Goldwyn, Marcus LaVoi, Lilliya Scarlett Reid and Kyanna Simone Simpson. Chambers will be released on Netflix on the 30th of April.
I am excited to watch some of these shows this month, but I’m already counting down to the days to Stranger Things Season 3 (which will be released on Netflix on the 4th of July 2019).
Besides the above titles, Netflix is also releasing a 2nd season for The Protector, a 3rd season of Roman Empire, Season 2 of Workin’ Moms and season 5 of Cuckoo in April 2019.
There are also plenty of licenced titles coming to the streaming service this month, so keep an eye out for them when you log into your Netflix account.
