Today I’m featuring 11 Hilarious Wikus Van Der Merwe Memes. I hope that you’ll enjoy them. For those of you who have not seen District 9 the pictures featured on this post might not make sense.
A new website has sprung up in honor of Wikus van der Merwe, a character played by Sharlto Copley in District 9 (which plays off in Johannesburg).
The website is regularly updated with pictures of him which have been Photoshopped onto well-known / recognizable movie posters and other photos. Seeing this, the Vernon Koekemoer craze of 2008 comes to mind. It just shows you, South Africans have a lot of time on their hands and they seem to use it creatively.
The Wikus van der Merwe website also features and interview. There are rumors going around that Sharlto Copley might be cast in the A-Team movie, not bad for someone who’s starred in his first movie earlier in this year (if it’s true).
