Info about the artists playing at the first Park Acoustics of 2020
Early B is a Ghoema Award winning rapper who has claimed his spot in the music industry as a solo artist with music that catapulted him onto national levels and created a demand for himself both nationally and internationally.
Desmond & The Tutus have been around since 2005 and need no introduction. Their musical style can be described as “infectiously awesome blend of Rock ‘n Roll, Indie Kwela Pop and Genius”.
Afrikaans poet, writer and music legend Koos Kombuis also needs no introduction. He released his first album, Ver Van Die Ou Kalahari via Shifty Records in 1987 and has been making waves in the SA music scene since then.
Hellcats have been rocking people’s socks off since the middle of last decade. They’ve opened up for international acts like The Cure, Incubus and Seether and released their first full length album last year.
Southern Gypsey Queen have always been one of my favourite SA rock bands. The band was originally formed in Molteno in the Eastern Cape in 1999. To date they’ve released 4 studio albums and played at venues and festivals all over South Africa.
Afrikaans folk rockers Ruiter Piet & Die Partytjie burst onto the scene in 2019. The band is the brainchild of Pieter de Jager (lead singer and songwriter of Die Tuindwergies.
When the live music ends, there will be comedy from Deep Fried Man, Lindy Johnson and Gino Fernandez on the Sunset Comedy stage.
The first Park Acoustics of 2020 (and the decade) is brought to in association with Pringles.
