The XBox Series X: Everything You Need To Know

The new Xbox Series X console is set to be released sometime at the end of 2020. Those of us who are die-hard Xbox fans can hardly wait! Microsoft has given us a few glimpses into the new design, showcasing better graphics, improved loading times and more options for connectivity. And all of your old accessories like your XBox headset will work with it.

The information released on the Xbox Series X console claims that it will have more computing power, comparing it with gaming laptops and PC’s.

Xbox Series X

While the new Xbox is being called Series X, representatives from Microsoft are saying that the new console will be carrying on with the name Xbox. Although alternatively titling it Series X also suggests that there will be multiple new versions of the console to come.

This is exciting considering that the new design is already reporting to be much more powerful than its predecessors, the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

When Will It Be Released?

Most companies keep on with their traditions of releasing new products at the same time each year. For Xbox, November has been the usual release date. Microsoft says that it will be released during the holiday season of 2020.

Some speculate that a slightly earlier (October) release date could be expected. This would ensure that the new console will have time to be shipped out and put under the Christmas tree just in time.

What is the Xbox Series X?

I think most of you are probably wondering, what’s under the hood of the new Xbox Series X? Luckily Microsoft has given us a few details to keep us updated.

They have confirmed that the new console will have a custom AMD Zen 2 processor (yes!) with a uniquely designed Navi GPU with support for ray tracing. It will also include frame rates at up to 120 frames per second and 8K resolution. Add that to a fast GDDR6 memory, and variable refresh rates and we have a highly powerful machine.

While we don’t have all the information yet there is speculation of a few new components the new design will have.

Some people are reporting the new system with have 12 teraflops (TF) of computing power. They are, however, speculating that there will be two versions of the new release. The full power system and a lower-priced system with fewer options.

How much will the Xbox Series X Cost?

The next question on some people’s minds is, how much is it going to cost? We all remember that feeling when we found out the Xbox one was priced much higher than its counterpart the PS4.

While we do not know how much the new console will be exactly, we do know that insiders have mentioned that they will not be repeating the mistakes they made with pricing in the past.

We believe that you should expect to pay between $350 and $550 for the new Xbox Series X, although these prices could reflect the two different models, the higher-end model, and the lower-end model.

What New Games Can We Expect?

They have only announced a few names in the upcoming gaming releases but the few that have been mentioned will no doubt be some of the best titles of the new year.

One that was mentioned is the new Halo Infinite, a game that many people are saying will be one of the greatest releases yet.

If you’re like me, you have spent countless hours playing Halo and connecting with your friends over a storyline that has many people captivated.

The first game officially announced for the new Xbox Series X is Senua’s Saga: HellBlade 2. If you were able to catch the footage at the Game Awards, you were probably pretty impressed, as were we!

There is also speculation for new releases such as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six and the game, Gods and Monsters.

Is the Xbox series X Project Scarlett?

Microsoft has been announcing a new up and coming next-gen console called Project Scarlett, and this is it folks.

While they have chosen to keep the name Xbox, adding the Series X, this is the stuff our dreams have been made for the last couple years.

The new Xbox Series X is everything they promised with Project Scarlett and more.

What Will Happen to the Old Consoles?

While the new release is very promising with its newer technology, the old consoles still have their place in our hearts.

It’s reported that the older Xbox One and Xbox 360 will be able to coexist with the newer systems. That means that we can expect new games to have backwards compatibility for the old systems, and updates that will make the older machines even better.

We couldn’t be more excited for the release of the Xbox Series X and will eagerly be awaiting new information and official announcements.

It’s an exciting time to be alive and the new tech that is coming out will make the gaming experience that much better.
