Lie Witness News @ Coachella 2013

Jimmy Kimmel was at it again the USA this week. His Lie Witness News team made their way to Coachella 2013 (which is held over two weekends somewhere in the desert in California) and asked people what they thoughts of a few bands that don’t exist.

Let’s face it folks, everyone can get hyped up at a music festival. Anyone can discover new acts that blow them away the first time they see them perform – I’m speaking out of personal experience. I’ll never forget the first time that I saw Fokofpolisiekar live at Oppikoppi (in 2004). I also won’t forget the first time I saw Matthew van der Want and Koos Kombuis at Oppikoppi (in 1998). All of these examples have made a musical impact on me. No one has hyped up a band or artist that does not exist for me though. I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I guess that I’m brighter than your average American.

I’m bummed that I’m missing Coachella 2013 though. Alt-J, Band of Horses, Ben Howard, Blur, Dropkick Murphys, Foals, Franz Ferdinand, Infected Mushroom, Moby, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, OMD, Paul Oakenfold, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rodriguez, The Lumineers, The Stone Roses, Violent Femmes, Two Door Cinema Club and countless other artists are performing there.  Check out this hilarious video clip that Jimmy Kimmel Live posted about the Lie Witness News team’s visit to Coachella 2013 below. Just seeing this  is giving me the urge to get my pair of festival Converse on – it happens when I watch any form of festival clip

If this Coachella 2013 clip made you laugh, feel free to share it with your friends on Facebook and Twitter. Remember: Sharing is Caring.

Wicked Life Advice from Mr Bean

by Henno Kruger on April 26, 2013 · 2 comments

in Funny Pictures, Humor, Opinion

I’ve been blogging for close to 5 years. At first I didn’t take it too seriously. An online friend (whom I still haven’t met to this day) told me that I have a lot to tell the world and that I should start a blog. I decided to give it a shot. I tried various blogging platforms, experimented with mini blogs on Blogger and WordPress, delved into the realm of writing about conspiracy theories, considered blogging about relationships from a guy’s point of view or life in general, featuring endless amounts of funny cat videos and even pondered about starting my own porn site (among other things).

After much experimentation and thought dabbling exercises I finally found my feet and established a blogging rhythm in Mid 2009 – I also discovered Twitter at the same time. Since then I’ve been writing about Music, Movies, Gaming, Technology, Babes, Events, Facts, Humor, Photography, Sport, Television and other interesting topics. I must admit that I’m not always an opinionated person, but I have found that I’m able to express my Opinion about events that I attend, current affairs, social media and a whole list of other things if I really put my mind to it. Along the way I also utilized Twitter and Facebook as the ultimate network tool. The fact is, if I didn’t start blogging in 2008 I probably would not be where I am professionally today.

Nowadays I’m attending media and product launches, going to award ceremonies, writing about the things that I love, taking photos at festivals and concerts of local and international bands that I adore, discovering new music, constantly meeting new people, partying like I’m still 19 years old, running campaigns and competitions via this blog and social media and working hard at my day job . I’m basically trying to enjoy life the most I can. We’re only put on this planet for X amount of years and I don’t want to waste any of them.

And of course I’d like to enjoy life even more. Hopefully I get the opportunity in the future to attend awesome international music festivals like Tomorrowland, Download, Soundwave, Roskilde, Glastonbury, Reading, T in the Park, Oxegen, Coachella, Burning Man, Graspop, Farmpop, Pinkpop, Pukkelpop and Bonnaroo. I still want to see Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, The Black Keys, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and various other bands live before I die. I want to know what St. Patricks Day is like in Ireland, what the real Oktoberfest is like in Germany, how it feels to stand on top of Ayer’s Rock in Australia and what the view is like from the top of the Eiffel Tower, The Empire State Building, The Petronas Tower, The Burj, The Sears Tower and others buildings and structures. I want to meet more interesting people and experience all kinds of cool things.  Two things that I’ve realized is that I need to start travelling abroad and that I should start thinking outside of the box and my comfort zone – all with the aim to do what makes me REALLY happy. Guess I’ll have to get my arse into gear and make it happen. I think this Wicked Advice from Mr Bean sums it all up.
