The sixth biggest box office hit of 2024 (so far), Kung Fu Panda 4 returns comedy icon Jack Black to his role as Po, the world’s most unlikely kung fu master.
When Po is tapped to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace, he needs to find and train a new Dragon Warrior, but a wicked sorceress plans to re summon all the master villains whom Po has vanquished to the spirit realm.
Po finds help in the form of crafty, quick witted thief Zhen, a corsac fox who really gets under Po’s fur, but the comedic odd couple duo will have to work together if they’re going to protect the Valley of Peace from Chameleon’s reptilian claws.
Golden Globe winner Awkwafina voices Zhen in a star studded voice cast that includes Oscar winners Dustin Hoffman, Ke Huy Quan, and Viola Davis.
Kung Fu Panda 4 was nominated for the 2024 Kids’ Choice Award for Favourite Animated Movie, with Jack Black and Awkwafina nominated for Favourite Voice from an Animated Movie – Male, and Female, respectively.
DreamWorks Animation’s beloved action comedy franchise has now earned over $2 billion at the global box office.
2. The Fall Guy Stream on Showmax from Monday, 18 November 2024
The Fall Guy stars Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling as Colt Seavers, a battle scarred former stuntman who is drafted back into service when the star of a mega budget studio movie—being directed by his ex, Jody Moreno—goes missing.
Golden Globe winners Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, A Quiet Place) and Aaron Taylor Johnson (Nocturnal Animals) play Jody and lead actor Tom Ryder, with Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) as the film’s ruthless producer. Inspired by the hit 1980s TV series, the film also stars Winston Duke (Black Panther’s M’Baku) and Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

3. Civil War – Stream on Showmax from Monday, 25 November 2024
From Oscar nominated writer director Alex Garland (Ex Machina), Civil War journeys across a dystopian future America, following a team of military embedded journalists as they race against time to reach DC before rebel factions descend on the White House.

4. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom – Stream on Showmax from Monday, 11 November 2024
The #15 biggest blockbuster of last year, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was up for Favourite Movie at the 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards, with star Jason Momoa nominated for Favourite Movie Actor and Action Movie Star of the Year at the People’s Choice Awards.
Driven by vengeance, Black Manta (Emmy winner Yahya Abdul Mateen II) is more formidable than ever, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident. To defeat him, Aquaman must enlist the former King of Atlantis, his imprisoned brother Orm (Emmy nominee Patrick Wilson), to forge an unlikely alliance to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family—and the world—from irreversible destruction.
Directed by James Wan (Furious 7, The Conjuring franchise), Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom brings back Teen Choice nominee Amber Heard, Oscar winner Nicole Kidman, action legend Dolph Lundgren, Critics Choice nominee Randall Park (WandaVision), and Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett in The Mandalorian), with Emmy winner Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building) voicing Kingfish.

The Hollywood Reporter praises Emmy winner Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), saying she gives a career defining performance in The End We Start From. The film garnered nine nominations at last year’s British Independent Film Awards, including Best Lead Performance for Comer and Best Supporting Performance for Katherine Waterston (Alien Covenant, Fantastic Beasts films).
Set amidst catastrophic floods in London, the story follows a new mother’s dangerous journey to protect her baby while seeking safety in a world consumed by chaos.

Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney (The White Lotus, Euphoria, Anyone But You) earned a Fangoria Chainsaw nomination for her role as Cecilia in Immaculate. In this chilling thriller, Cecilia joins a remote convent in the Italian countryside, only to discover that her new home hides sinister secrets and unspeakable horrors.
Filmed in Rome, the movie also stars Emmy nominee Simona Tabasco (The White Lotus) and award winning Spanish actor Álvaro Morte (The Professor in Money Heist). The Wrap raves, saying “Sweeney has never been better than she is here. What a darkly beautiful yet brutal, bloody and bold film.”

A prequel to Stephen King’s terrifying novel, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines takes us back to 1969, decades before the events of Pet Sematary. Young Jud Crandall, preparing to leave his hometown of Ludlow, Maine, finds himself confronted by an ancient evil that has haunted the town since its founding.
Jackson White (Mrs. Fletcher) stars as Jud, alongside Emmy nominee David Duchovny (The X Files, Californication) and Golden Globe nominees Henry Thomas (The Fall of the House of Usher, E.T.) and Pam Grier (Jackie Brown).
Directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer, who co wrote the script with Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary), this haunting origin story delves deeper into the darkness of Ludlow.
8. Heist 88 – Stream on Showmax from Monday, 25 November 2024
Heist 88 follows criminal mastermind Jeremy Horne, who plans one final heist before heading to prison. Horne recruits a team of young bank employees to execute a daring $80 million robbery.
Emmy winner Courtney B. Vance (American Crime Story, Lovecraft Country) leads the cast as Horne, alongside Black Reel nominee Keesha Sharp (Power Book II: Ghost) and triple Emmy winner Keith David.
