    1. Nigerian Idol Season 10 – Sundays at 20:00 on Showmax and Africa Magic (DStv Channel 151)

    The live shows for Nigerian Idol Season 10 began on 25 May 2025, featuring the top 10 contestants: Boss Lady, Brammy, Ellacentric, Jkenova, Kristopher, Lawrence, Mikki, Purp, Raymu, and Sally. The season opened with a group performance of “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman, followed by individual performances of Billboard hits, including Nigerian songs like “Finesse” by Pheelz and “Love Nwantiti” by CKay.

    A special anniversary twist brought D’banj, a former Billboard chart-topper, to join judges Ric Hassani and Iyanya. Hosted by IK Osakioduwa, the show continues weekly, culminating in the grand finale in July 2025. Fans can vote for their favorite contestants.

    2. 100 Foot Wave Season 3 – Binge from Thursday, 5 June 2025 on Showmax

    100 Foot Wave Season 3 follows big wave surfer Garrett McNamara, his wife Nicole, and fellow surfers in Nazaré, Portugal, as they push the limits of their sport.

    Directed by Chris Smith (HBO’s Branson) and executive produced by Joe Lewis (Fleabag), the series won Outstanding Cinematography at the Emmys for two consecutive years.

    It was also nominated for Outstanding Sports Programme by the Producers Guild of America. Decider praises its stunning visuals and deep dive into the lives of professional surfers.

    3. The Mommy Club NBO – Fridays from 30 May 2025 on Showmax

    The Mommy Club NBO, a Showmax Original, explores the lives of five affluent Kenyan mothers—Jackie Matubia, DJ Pierra Makena, Carey Priscilla, Lynne Njihia, and Ofentse Tsipa—as they juggle parenting, careers, and glamour in Nairobi. Ofentse is the sister of Lemogang Tsipa, star of Shaka iLembe. The series follows successful editions in South Africa and Tanzania.

    4. Hacks Season 4 – Binge from Friday, 6 June 2025 on Showmax

    Hacks Season 4, a critically acclaimed comedy with a 97% Rotten Tomatoes rating, follows Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) as they work to launch their late-night show.

    Jean Smart has won Best Actress Emmys for every season, and Einbinder earned a Best Supporting Actress Critics Choice Award in 2025. The Guardian calls it both hilarious and emotionally raw.

    5. Doc Season 1 – Mondays at 19:00 from 9 June 2025 on M-Net, then express to Showmax

    Doc Season 1 stars Molly Parker as Dr. Amy Larsen, who awakens after a car accident with no memory of the past eight years.

    Co-starring Omar Metwally and Jon-Michael Ecker, this Fox drama, based on an Italian series and a true story, was Fox’s highest-rated new drama this season. Variety praises its fresh take on a doctor navigating personal and professional challenges.

    6. Funny Woman Season 2 – Binge from Monday, 9 June 2025 on Showmax

    Funny Woman Season 2 follows BAFTA nominee Gemma Arterton as Barbara Parker/Sophie Straw, a 1960s comedian navigating fame and personal challenges in London. Based on Nick Hornby’s Funny Girl and created by Morwenna Banks, the season introduces Gemma Whelan and Tim Key to the cast.

    Boyzone: Life, Death & Boybands is a three-part mini-series exploring the rise and fall of the iconic boyband. Featuring interviews with Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch, Michael Graham, and manager Louis Walsh, it covers their 25 million record sales, Stephen Gately’s coming out, and his tragic death.

    8. Iyanu Season 1 – Binge from Friday, 13 June 2025 on Showmax

    Iyanu, a Showmax Original, is an animated series drawing on Nigerian culture and mythology. It follows teenage orphan Iyanu as she discovers her divine powers to save Yorubaland.

    Featuring an all-African voice cast led by Serah Johnson, it ranked #1 on Cartoon Network and top 10 on Max in the US. Screenrant compares it to The Last Airbender and Black Panther.

    9. Chimp Crazy Season 1 – Binge from Friday, 13 June 2025 on Showmax

    Chimp Crazy, a four-part HBO documentary from Tiger King director Eric Goode, follows Tonia Haddix, a former nurse caring for chimpanzees, in a saga involving PETA, local authorities, and actor Alan Cumming.
