Disney+ has unveiled the official trailer for FX’s Alien: Earth, a gripping new sci-fi drama from Emmy® Award-winning creator Noah Hawley.
Set to premiere on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, the series launches with its first two episodes available to stream immediately on Disney+ in South Africa. A new episode from the 8-part season will follow every Wednesday.
In Alien: Earth A New Threat Emerges from the Stars
The story begins when the deep space vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth. Among the survivors is Wendy (played by Sydney Chandler), who joins a team of tactical soldiers in confronting a harrowing threat unlike anything seen before.
Set in the year 2120, Alien: Earth unfolds during the Corporate Era, where five powerful companies—Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold—govern Earth.
In this world, humans coexist with cyborgs (organisms with biological and artificial components) and synthetics (AI-driven humanoid robots).
But the balance of power shifts when the brilliant young CEO of Prodigy develops hybrids—advanced synthetic beings fused with human consciousness.
The prototype hybrid, Wendy, symbolizes the next frontier in the quest for immortality. After a catastrophic collision between Weyland-Yutani’s spacecraft and Prodigy City, Wendy and her fellow hybrids encounter a new form of extraterrestrial terror—one that may threaten all life on Earth.
