On the 5th of March 2023 I made my way to the SunBet Arena at Time Square Casino in Pretoria to watch Ronan Keating Live.
Here’s my 2 cents on Ronan Keating show
The opening act on the night was Lee Cole (a Post-Teen Pop artist from Johannesburg). To date Lee Cole has released multiple singles via Watersound Entertainment.
He has been coined the Lewis Capaldi of South Africa with his confessional pop style of music and he totally lived up that reputation. The man can sing. He had the Pretoria crowd singing along in no time.
At 6 PM Ronan Keating (who burst onto the scene in 1993 as the co-lead singer of Irish pop group Boyzone) made his way onto the stage. I can’t exactly remember which song he started with, but I have to admit that I was intrigued.
I am a huge rock fan, so this wasn’t really my cup of tea, but I have to admit that I was quite impressed by Ronan Keating’s performance. I thoroughly enjoyed his version of Damien Rice’s “The Blower’s Daughter” and Cat Stevens’ “Father and Son” (which happens to be one of the Irishman’s favourite songs).
The way the Ronan Keating interacted with the audience was remarkable. His interaction was respectful and humourous at times. I was thoroughly impressed by his artistry. The man is definitely good at what he does.
Thanks to BreakOut Management and Citadel for bringing Mr Keating to South Africa. If you’re looking for a laid-back evening filled with singalongs, make sure that you check him out in a town or city near you.
