Upcoming Cape Town-based artist Seth Cort released his debut single on Friday (the 21st of April 2023) called ‘Hold On’. It’s an inspirational Alt Folk Pop song produced by seasoned Rock singer-songwriter Mark Haze.
There’s probably a lot that you don’t know about this singer-songwriter, but today my aim is to change that.
Here are 10 Interesting Facts You Might Not Know about Seth Cort
1. Seth Cort started learning how to play guitar in 2017, and wrote his first song about a girl he had a crush on when he was 13 years old.
2. He has been singing and playing guitar on stage since he was 14 years old (2018).
3. Seth Cort’s first band was a school band called Riptide. This band only performed once.
4. He was student of the year at Liana Marx Vocal Academy in 2021.
5. He is obsessed with The Lumineers, an Alternative Folk band based in Denver, Colorado. His personal Spotify playlist has just over 40 of their songs on it.
6. After auditioning at the International Arts Talent Showcase in Johannesburg, Seth received an call-back invitation to perform at the IMTA Talent Convention in New York.
7. In his entire family history, Seth and his grandmother are the only family members that were ever musically inclined, or were musicians.
8. Seth Cort is a huge Star Wars fan. He has a large Lego Star Wars collection, and he plays many Star Wars based video games. He also has all the Star Wars films on DVD and a bunch of other Star Wars related collectables and merchandise.
9. He is a jack-of-all-trades., and can play the Guitar, Ukulele, Piano and Harmonica. He is also an intermediate drummer. He learnt how to play these instruments during his high school career.
10. Seth has ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). His mind is usually all over the place, because he gets easily distracted.
