Rising South African pop sensation Lola Audreys is continuing her steady climb as one of the country’s most promising musical exports. Her latest single, “Hello Goodbye,” arrives on the heels of the massive success of her previous track, “Rum and Coke,” which enjoyed significant airplay both locally and internationally.
With a growing catalogue that has already surpassed 10 million streams, Lola is feeling the momentum. She notes that seeing her music connect so strongly with radio audiences has provided a major confidence boost, paving the way for this more reflective and honest new chapter in her career.
The Beauty of Brief Encounters
The inspiration for “Hello Goodbye” stems from the small, often overlooked moments of human connection. Lola explains that the song grew from the idea of a simple glance or a passing interaction that lingers in the mind long after it’s over. It’s a universal theme that explores how these brief encounters can shape our lives.
Collaborating with producer Barney Cox and songwriter Joe Killington, Lola focused on a natural, understated creative process. The final product features a light, nostalgic pop production designed to let the core emotion of the song lead the way without being overworked.
Showcasing South Africa to the World
Beyond the audio, Lola Audreys has been deeply involved in the visual identity of this release. She has been utilizing short-form content and music videos to engage with her fans, while also using the opportunity to showcase the natural beauty of her home, South Africa, to a global audience.
“I love how honest and understated it feels,” she shares regarding the new track. “It just gives people space to feel something in their own way.”
