Lola Audreys Returns with New Single “Rum and Coke”

South African pop sensation Lola Audreys is back with her latest release, “Rum and Coke,” a vibrant, hook-driven track that radiates late-night energy and heartfelt honesty.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Lola Audreys shares, “”Rum and Coke” came from wanting to capture that in-between stage of life, when you’re transitioning from childhood into adolescence.

It’s a time full of excitement, freedom, curiosity, and a kind of beautiful naivety. I wanted to write a song that reflects that joy and reminds us of a time when life felt open, playful, and full of possibility.”

Co-written with acclaimed British artist Moss Kena, known for collaborations with Disclosure and Purple Disco Machine, and produced by Barney Cox, whose credits include Tom Grennan and Sam Ryder, “Rum and Coke” is a crisp, effervescent pop track. It balances the thrill of connection with the bittersweet taste of reality.

Lola Audreys explains, “I always love being in the studio. I usually arrive with a notebook full of thoughts, observations, and little moments I’ve noticed in everyday life. Once I’m ready to work with my producer, we shape the music together. As we share ideas, we often remember our own carefree moments – the times we felt most alive. That sense of fun and colour is exactly what I aim to bring into my music.”

Lola Audreys is building on Previous Success

Following the success of her previous single, “One Call Away,” which received widespread radio support across South Africa, Lola Audreys has solidified her position as one of the country’s most exciting emerging pop voices. With over 10 million streams to her name, she continues to impress as both a writer and performer.

Spreading Joy Through Music

“I want to keep having fun and encourage others to do the same,” Lola says. “There’s so much pressure in the world to chase things, buy things, and constantly strive for more.

Yet some of the best things in life are free – sunshine on your skin, time in nature, laughter with friends, and meaningful conversations. Those are the real remedies for a good life. I hope my music continues to remind people to notice what’s around them and enjoy it.”
