The Groove Room is officially stepping out on its own. Born from the electrifying energy of Ultra South Africa, the renowned stage is evolving into a standalone experience, making its highly anticipated debut in Cape Town on 26 December 2026.
The Groove Room Features The Sound of the Continent
At its core, The Groove Room is a vibrant celebration of African electronic music culture. Built by the crowd that has shaped it over the years, the event brings together the artists and audiences pushing the continent’s sound forward.
Fans can expect a world-class production dedicated to the infectious rhythms of Amapiano, Gqom, Afro House, Afro Tech, and 3-Step.
Over the years, the stage has hosted some of South Africa’s most influential musical heavyweights, including Oscar Mbo, Dlala Thukzin, DBN Gogo, Scorpion Kings, Liquideep, DJ Lag, and Que DJ. Now, that immense energy is moving beyond the traditional festival circuit.

The Groove Room is about much more than who is performing behind the decks. It is a holistic celebration of music, dance, fashion, and community.
It honors the dancers, the chanters, and those unforgettable moments when an entire crowd moves as one. It is an experience crafted for everyone who knows that a good groove doesn’t just stop – it goes on.
The Road to Cape Town
While the official headliners and full lineup are yet to be announced, the build-up to 26 December has already begun.
Ahead of its Cape Town debut, The Groove Room will continue to expand its digital footprint, offering audiences a taste of what is to come through live set releases, YouTube content, curated playlists, and community stories straight from the dancefloor.
