In October 2024, Rivals, the highly anticipated eight-part series based on the iconic novel by Dame Jilly Cooper, makes its debut. Step into a world of drama, excess, and scandal with the power-hungry social elite of 1980s England.

From creator Ryan Murphy comes Doctor Odyssey, a thrilling medical drama set aboard a cruise ship. Starring Joshua Jackson, Don Johnson, Phillipa Soo, and more, follow Dr. Max as he navigates life-saving challenges while at sea.

For Bruce Springsteen fans, the new documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band gives an intimate look at the behind-the-scenes journey leading up to the band’s 2023-2024 World Tour.

Sports Fans! Don’t miss La Máquina, a limited series that follows a boxer at a career low as he fights for a comeback.

If you’re in the mood for something spooky, new episodes of Marvel Television’s Agatha All Along will be dropping throughout the month. Also look out for FX’s Grotesquerie and Searchlight Pictures’ Hold Your Breath, both arriving just in time for the season.

Looking for classic favorites? Disney+ offers some of the best long-running series to binge, like Grey’s Anatomy, 9-1-1, Prison Break and Modern Family.

You can also dive back into iconic shows like Lost and Desperate Housewives as they celebrate their 20th anniversary this year.

Here’s what coming to Disney+ in October 2024

    Rivals – Streaming on Disney+ from 18 October 2024

Rivals, set in England in 1986, is an adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s second book in the Rutshire Chronicles.

The story follows Rupert Campbell-Black, a notorious rake and former showjumper who transitioned into a career in politics.

    Rivals - Disney+

Rupert teams up with his new neighbor, Declan O’Hara, to take down the unscrupulous television magnate Lord Tony Baddingham by bidding for his Cotswolds-based independent TV franchise.

However, their plans are thrown off course when Rupert, known for his womanizing ways, becomes romantically involved with Declan’s innocent daughter, Taggie O’Hara.

At the same time, a love triangle develops between Rupert, Tony, and Tony’s right-hand woman, the brilliant American producer Cameron Cook. Declan also faces turmoil in his own marriage to the dazzling actress, Maud.

In the ruthless world of television, where it’s every man and woman for themselves, the question remains: Can true love really flourish amidst all the chaos?

Mr Crockett – Streaming on Disney+ from 11 October 2024

In 1993, a mysterious children’s show host, Mr. Crocket, magically emerges from television sets to kidnap young children, brutally slaying their parents in the process.

After Mr. Crocket snatches her son, one determined mother embarks on a perilous quest to track down the demonic entertainer and rescue her boy. Starring Jerrika Hinton, Elvis Nolasco, Ayden Gavin, Kristolyn Lloyd, and Alex Akpobome.

    Carved – Streaming on Disney+ from 21 October 2024

When a heartbroken teenage playwright, her younger brother, and a group of survivors become trapped in a historical reenactment village on Halloween night, they must band together to survive a relentless assault by a sentient and vengeful pumpkin. Starring Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Corey Fogelmanis, Wyatt Lindner, and more.

Doctor Odyssey – Streaming on Disney+ from 24 October 2024

From the creative genius of Ryan Murphy comes the high-energy procedural series, Doctor Odyssey. Max, played by Joshua Jackson, is the newly appointed onboard doctor of a luxury cruise ship where the staff works just as hard as they play.

    Doctor Oddysey - Disney+

As Max and his tight-knit medical team tackle extraordinary medical emergencies, they also must navigate their own interpersonal challenges—all while being miles away from shore.

Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band – Streaming on Disney+ from 25 October 2024

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band offer the most in-depth look ever at the creation of their legendary live performances, including footage of band rehearsals, backstage moments, rare archival clips and personal reflections from Springsteen himself.

La Máquina – Already available to stream on Disney+

After suffering a devastating loss, Esteban “La Máquina” Osuna, portrayed by Gael García Bernal, finds himself at the lowest point of his boxing career.

    La Máquina - Disney+

Fortunately, his manager and best friend, Andy Lujan (Diego Luna), is determined to help him rise back to the top. However, when a dangerous organization comes into play, the stakes of Esteban’s rematch turn into a matter of life and death.

As he fights for a comeback, Esteban must also confront his personal demons and protect his family, including his ex-wife, Irasema (Eiza González), a journalist whose investigation brings her face-to-face with the dark underbelly of the boxing world.

Hold Your Breath – Already available to stream on Disney+

Set in 1930s Oklahoma, the Bellum family’s home sits in a barren valley, with dust storms obscuring the sun. Margaret, played by Sarah Paulson, and her two daughters, Rose (Amiah Miller) and Ollie (Alona Jane Robbins), work hard to maintain their struggling farm while Margaret’s husband is away searching for work.

    Hold Your Breath - Disney+

As they fight to survive the harsh conditions of the Dust Bowl, a mysterious stranger, portrayed by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, arrives and threatens everything they hold dear. But could the real danger be closer than they think?

    9-1-1 Season 8 – New episodes weekly, streaming from 17 October 2024 on Disney+

Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear bring a fresh take to the procedural drama with 9-1-1. The series delves into the intense, high-stakes lives of first responders—police officers, firefighters, and dispatchers—as they confront some of the most terrifying, shocking, and life-threatening emergencies.

What We Do In The Shadows Season 6 – Streaming on Disney+ from 22 October 2024

After a very brief stint as a full-blown vampire, Guillermo is re-evaluating his life. Who is he if not a familiar who will do anything to please his Master in hopes of one day being turned into a vampire? Meanwhile, the vampires are reevaluating, too. When their former roommate reappears after a 50-year nap, they realize how little they’ve done in half a century — not one goal accomplished, not one dream pursued, not one part of the New World conquered (except for their street and part of Ashley Street).

In the sixth and final season of the Emmy-nominated comedy, Nandor, Nadja, Laszlo, Colin and Guillermo will enter the workforce, visit New Hampshire, go to a human dinner party, fête The Baron and conjure a demon — all while trying to find their place and their purpose in this crazy, mixed-up world.
