International hip-hop superstar French Montana is heading to South Africa this December for two exclusive headline performances, presented by AFROTRAX in partnership with PLAYY. Music.
The highly anticipated events will bring one of global hip-hop’s biggest names to Cape Town and Johannesburg for a pair of unmissable live experiences.
The AFROTRAX series kicks off at The Ostrich in Cape Town on Friday, 4 December 2026, with the event running from 14h00 until midnight.
The action then moves to Johannesburg on Saturday, 5 December 2026, where French Montana will headline the event at The Canvas. The Johannesburg edition will run from 13:00 until 23:00.
French Montana Brings Global Hip-Hop Hits to South Africa
With billions of streams around the world, French Montana has established himself as one of the most recognisable names in international hip-hop.
His extensive catalogue includes global hits such as “Unforgettable”, “No Stylist”, “Pop That” and “Ain’t Worried About Nothin'”, alongside high-profile collaborations with artists including Drake, The Weeknd, Post Malone, Cardi B, Swae Lee and Chris Brown.
South African fans can expect a high-energy performance showcasing some of the tracks that have made French Montana a fixture on the international hip-hop scene.
AFROTRAX Brings Global Entertainment to South Africa
AFROTRAX has been created around the intersection of African culture, music, fashion and global entertainment. The concept aims to connect international artists with Africa’s vibrant creative communities while delivering large-scale live experiences.
The French Montana shows will offer more than a headline performance, with audiences able to experience local artists and DJs, food vendors, lifestyle activations, premium hospitality and immersive production.
The organisers describe AFROTRAX as a new platform for African live entertainment, with the launch featuring French Montana marking the beginning of a broader vision to connect audiences with some of the world’s most influential artists.
Two Different AFROTRAX Experiences
The Johannesburg edition at The Canvas is set to deliver a high-energy urban festival atmosphere, while the Cape Town event at The Ostrich will offer an outdoor summer experience in one of the country’s distinctive event locations.
Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, YoungstaCPT, 25K, Jairic (US), Rarri, Kane (DJ) and Bassik will be the supporting acts for the Cape Town show and Cassper Nyovest, Kabza De Small, Blxckie, Jairic (US), Lucasraps, Rarri, K.Keed and Teddy Tumi will be the supporting acts for the Johannesburg show.
