October 2022 is done and dusted. There might be a few days left in the 10th month of this year, but I am pretty sure that you’re in agreement with me.
October 2022 has seen it’s fair share of notable events
Amid a government crisis, Rishi Sunak became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on the 25th of October 2022. He’s the first British Asian to hold office. This follows the resignation of Liz Truss (who was only in office for 44 days).
On the same day, German sportswear manufacturer Adidas cut ties with American rapper and fashion designer Kanye West (also known as Ye) over anti-Semitic remarks he made in interviews and on social media.
On the 12th of October 2022 American conspiracy theorist, radio host, and provocateur Alex Jones was ordered by a Connecticut defamation trial jury to pay $965 million to families of those killed in 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. This is for falsely and repeatedly claiming on his broadcasts that none of the 20 children and six adults killed had actually died and that their relatives were crisis actors.
Enough seriousness for now though… Before we embrace the next month (November 2022), it’s time to give the current month a proper send-off.
