Ahsoka, also referred to as Star Wars: Ahsoka, stands as an American television miniseries crafted and penned by Dave Filoni for Disney+. This production is an integral part of the Star Wars franchise and acts as a spin-off from The Mandalorian series.

Set in the same timeframe as The Mandalorian and its interconnected spin-offs, Ahsoka unfolds its narrative after the events portrayed in Return of the Jedi (1983). Additionally, it serves as a direct continuation of the animated series Star Wars Rebels. The storyline revolves around Ahsoka Tano as she delves into a burgeoning threat to the galaxy following the collapse of the Empire.

Ahsoka TV Show

In the series, Ahsoka Tano, once the Jedi apprentice of Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars, endeavors to thwart the resurgence of Grand Admiral Thrawn after the collapse of the Empire.

The series features performances by Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, David Tennant, Eman Esfandi, Evan Whitten, Genevieve O’Reilly, Hayden Christensen, Ariana Greenblatt, Lars Mikkelsen, Anthony Daniels.

There’s probably a lot that you don’t know about this series, but today my aim is to change that.

13 Interesting Facts You Might Not Know about the Ahsoka TV Series

1. In Ahsoka Sabine Wren connects the droid’s head to a vintage handheld device in the hospital, which happens to be an old-school retro games console known as Galaxy Invader CGL from 1978. During filming, she holds it upside down for the scene.

2. Ray Stevenson’s unexpected demise in May 2023 makes this show one of his last projects. Across three decades, Stevenson portrayed diverse characters in both television and film. His roles included a loquacious soldier in the HBO historical drama Rome, the infamous pirate Blackbeard in the Starz series Black Sails, and the Asgardian warrior Volstagg in the Thor fantasy film series.

3. In this series, David Tennant returns to his role as Huyang. Alongside lending his voice to Huyang in this installment, he also voiced the character in a two-episode arc of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, earning him a Daytime Emmy for his performance.

4. Ahsoka’s ship has the serial number T-6-1974. Dave Filoni’s birthdate is 7-6-1974.

5. Rosario Dawson and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who shared the screen in the film Death Proof (2007), are brought together again in this series. Additionally, Hayden Christensen, who also appeared alongside Dawson, reunites with her after their collaboration in the biographical film Shattered Glass (2003).

6. Ahsoka received the Seal of Female Empowerment in Entertainment from the Critics Choice Association.

7. Ahsoka premiered on Disney+ on the 22nd of August 2023.

8. Disney and Lucasfilm revealed that “Part One” garnered 14 million views in the five days after its release, making it the most-watched title on Disney+ during its launch week. Disney measured views by calculating the total stream time divided by the runtime, a metric equated to 784 million minutes by The Hollywood Reporter.

9. In Ahsoka, Clancy Brown and Lars Mikkelsen revisit their roles from Star Wars: Rebels, portraying Governor Azadi and Thrawn, respectively, in live action for the first time. Dave Filoni also returns to voice Chopper, a character from Star Wars: Rebels.

10. The theoretical physics underlying Ahsoka‘s hyper ring is based on existing principles. According to this theory, a ship enclosed within the circle of the ring remains completely stationary, while the hyper ring manipulates the space around it.

In essence, neither the ring nor the ship experiences movement, but the space surrounding them shifts, theoretically enabling the possibility of covering great distances during travel.

11. Ashoka Season 2 might only be arriving on Disney+ in 2025 or 2026.

12. At the 76th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held on September 7 and 8, 2024, Ahsoka received the award for Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes for the episode “Part Eight: The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord.”

13. The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported that 85% of 269 critics gave the first season a positive review, with an average rating of 7.40 out of 10.

The website’s critical consensus reads, “Elevated by Rosario Dawson’s strong performance in the title role and a solid story that balances new and old elements of the Star Wars saga, Ahsoka is a must-watch for fans of the franchise.”
