Set to be one of the biggest celebrations yet, this beloved four-day event promises unforgettable live music, riverside adventures, and a vibrant community atmosphere.

For over three decades, Up The Creek has held a special place in South Africa’s festival scene
Since 1990, generations of music lovers have flocked to the stunning Breede River for a weekend of sunrise swims, lazy afternoons floating on the water, and discovering incredible new talent. The festival maintains an intimate, welcoming vibe where everyone is a “Creeker.”
The 2027 edition will feature more than 50 artists performing across four distinct stages.
While the complete line-up is still under wraps, the exciting first wave of acts has just been revealed:
Arno Carstens, aKING, Barto, BCUC, Booshle G, Dierbaar, Georgetown, Keanan Eksteen, Magé, MaxX & Love, Pedro Barbosa and SUGARBIRD.

Festival Director Caitlin Lotter highlights that while live music is the event’s core identity, Up The Creek is about so much more.
The sense of community, the annual pilgrimage to the river, and the chance to disconnect from everyday life are what make the experience so magical. She notes that the rugged, natural setting isn’t just a backdrop; it is the festival itself.
Whether you are a seasoned festival-goer returning for another chapter or planning your very first trip to the Creek, 2027 is shaping up to be a weekend you will not want to miss.
