Y (previously known as YFM), the heartbeat of Johannesburg’s youth culture, is officially bringing LYFE back this summer.
Scheduled for Sunday, 29 November 2026, at Marks Park in Emmarentia (in Johannesburg), the festival promises an unapologetic celebration of music, culture, and the alternative sounds currently shaping South Africa.
LYFE 2026 features a Dynamic, Genre-Bending Line-up
This year’s LYFE showcases an exciting mix of local and international talent, highlighting voices across R&B, neo-soul, and contemporary jazz.
The stage will feature South African headliners Shekhinah, Thando Zide, Lusanda, and Umzulu Phaqa. Adding a global dimension to the event is UK-born singer-songwriter AMA (formerly AMA LOU), whose genre-fluid blend of soulful textures, garage, and drill has garnered an international following.
To complement the carefully curated alternative sounds, Y’s own powerhouse DJs – LesediTheDJ, Venom, Rarri, Fae-Fae, and Fif_Laaa – will take to the decks. Holding down the mic and bringing that unmistakable Y energy are hosts Ayanda MVP, Nia Brown, Hey Shawty, Karen Mthethwa, and Tulz Madala.
“LYFE is an extension of Y’s ongoing commitment to showcasing South African and international musicians while creating an unforgettable experience,” states Y’s Music Curator, Codi Dinca. The event is designed to take attendees on a musical journey that balances the familiar with the unexpected, bringing like-minded lovers of alternative music together to discover and connect.
LYFE 2026 Ticketing and Event Information
This year, Y is rewarding early birds with a specially priced early-arrival ticket option. This discounted rate requires attendees to arrive by 1:00 PM; those arriving later will be subject to an additional fee at the door. Standard ticketing options are also available.
