Bittereinder have released a music video for their song “Slechte Mensen” (feauring Tim Beumers) and it’s a bloody visual masterpiece.
Afrikaans Rap group Bittereinder stormed onto the SA Music scene in late 2010. The wowed the crowd with a mini performance at the 2010 / 2011 Tuks FM Motherle$$ New Year’s Eve Party at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria.

For those of you who did not know Bittereinder’s members are Jaco Van Der Merwe, Peach van Pletzen (of Yesterday’s Pupil and Oorlog Frankenstein fame) and Louis Minnaar (who has directed various music videos in the South African music industry). This Pretoria based group won the 2011 South African Music Award (SAMA) for the Best Alternative Music Album – Afrikaans earlier in this year.
They’re definitely one of the groups to watch this year. I saw them perform at RAMFest 2011 JHB and most recently at the Tuks FM “The Youth That Rocks” Concert at Centurion Rugby Club. They’re definitely one of my favorite live acts at the moment. Sadly I missed Peach’s 25 birthday gig at Arcade Empire in Pretoria East (which apparently was radically epic according to @gevaalikdotcom @MonkeyMarcel and @traaidmark), but I will try not make the mistake of missing a live performance in Pretoria by them again.
If you have an opportunity to check these okes live you should definitely take it. Bittereinder recently released a music video for their song Slechte Mensen (which is a collaboration with Tim Beumers from the Netherlands). The song was released on their debut album earlier in 2011. Tim Beumers is also known as “Bolle Tim” in his home country and he is the owner of the VSOP label. Slechte Mensen features lyrics in Afrikaans and Dutch.
This is the music video for Slechte Mensen (which was direct by Louis Minnaar):
