Today I’m featuring a video by Oorlog Frankenstein. Electro fans will love this track. Peach van Pletzen (of Yesterday’s Pupil fame) and Francois van Coke (of Fokofpolisiekar and Van Coke Kartel fame) performed together in a play at the KKNK (Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees – translated as “Klein Karoo National Arts Festival”) entitled 2-21 last year.
The play was directed by Jaco Bouwer. After the play Van Pletzen and Van Coke continued working together as Oorlog Frankenstein (which is defined as a “social experiment” on their Facebook fan page and translates as “War Frankenstein” into English).

Appartently this refers to a war a person is fighting with himself. Van Pletzen also worked on the newly released Van Coke Kartel album Skop, Skiet en Donner (which was released a week or so ago). “Dans Dans Dans” is the result of this collaboration. It’s interesting to hear Francois van Coke’s voice over this intense electronic beat. I think it’s absolutely brilliant.

A different version of this song featuring Francois van Coke and Afrikaans rapper Jack Parow has also been making its appearances on the airwaves in recent weeks. Rumor has it that video for the Jack Parow version of Dans Dans Dans is one of the most expensive music videos made in South African music history and that it will be released sometime in April.
This is the video for the Oorlog Frankenstein version of “Dans Dans Dans”:
