South African singer-songwriter Garth Brown has returned with a compelling new single titled “Endaweni”, a track that blends spiritual depth with contemporary Afro-house textures.
The release marks an important step forward for Brown as he embraces his role as a solo artist after years spent working behind the scenes in the African music industry.

Many listeners will recognise Brown as the voice behind Jaguar Paw’s enduring house anthem “Inhliziyo Yam”. Now, with a renewed creative focus, he is stepping into the spotlight to share music that reflects his personal journey and artistic identity.
A Song Rooted in Spiritual Reflection
Written by Garth Brown and Duduzile “Lady Du” Ngwenya, “Endaweni” carries a deeply reflective message centred on spiritual grounding, belonging, and personal introspection. Sung in isiZulu, the track blends emotional gospel influences with the rhythmic energy of Afro-house, creating a sound that moves both the heart and the dancefloor.
For Brown, the release represents an important moment of vulnerability.
“Being an artist requires a level of vulnerability that can be both beautiful and terrifying,” he says. “People may remember my voice from the success of ‘Inhliziyo Yam’, but this EP is the first time I’m sharing a full body of work that truly reflects my own story and spiritual journey.”
He explains that while he spent years working on the corporate side of the music industry in A&R and music marketing, these songs were always waiting in the background.
“For years I stood behind the scenes while quietly carrying these songs inside me. ‘Endaweni’ is the beginning of me opening that door and allowing people to experience the most honest and personal side of who I am.”
A Collaboration With Leading Talent
“Endaweni” serves as the lead single from Brown’s debut EP, Let There Be Light, which was released across all digital platforms on 6 March 2026.
The song brings together a strong creative team. Alongside Brown and Lady Du as writers, the track was composed by Given Lungile “Shi Kargo” Mkhari, adding further depth to its production and sonic direction.
A New Chapter for Garth Brown
With Let There Be Light, Garth Brown introduces a sound that bridges spiritual storytelling with modern dance music. The project represents a new chapter in his career, one where the voice that once powered a house classic now carries a far more personal narrative.
Through “Endaweni”, Garth Brown invites listeners into a journey of faith, reflection, and rediscovery, setting the tone for a debut EP that promises both emotional honesty and powerful musical energy.
