Berlin-based art-rock outfit Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys are set to embark on their debut UK tour this May, kicking off in Bristol on the 7th of May 2025. The tour follows the release of their haunting new single, “Reaching”, which dropped on the 24th of April 2025.

A Unique Sound That Defies Convention

Renowned for their atmospheric blend of art-pop, ambient noise, and dark folk, the band has earned comparisons to the likes of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey, and Aldous Harding.

Their music shifts between quiet introspection and chaotic intensity—drifting from dreamy drones to urgent, angular rhythms.

Riding the Wave of a Critically Acclaimed Album

This UK tour follows the success of their sixth studio album, A Human Home (2024), a record praised for its emotional depth and sonic experimentation.

The group will perform twelve shows across the UK, including appearances at two major showcases: Focus Wales and The Great Escape.

A Band That Brings Intimacy and Urgency to the Stage

Fronted by South African-born Lucy Kruger (vocals, guitar), the band also includes Liú Mottes (guitar), Jean-Louise Parker (viola, vocals), Sally Whitton (bass), and Gidon Carmel (drums).

Their live performances are known for being intimate yet jarring, with moments that feel both surreal and emotionally raw—promising UK audiences an unforgettable experience.

Here’s the rephrased blog post version with appropriate formatting for the song and band name:

“Reaching” is a Haunting Meditation on Silence and Connection

The latest release from Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys, “Reaching”, delves into the delicate balance between communication and isolation, presence and absence, silence and sound. The track is a raw, immersive journey through emotional terrain that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant.

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys is Sounding Out the Silence

Built on a tense, woozy waltz, “Reaching” slowly unravels like a conversation on the brink of collapse. Lucy’s almost spoken-word vocal delivery pieces together fragmented thoughts in a desperate attempt to find clarity amid disconnection. As words falter, grinding guitars step in—offering a jarring, visceral expression of the void left by silence.

There’s a constant push and pull within the track: fragile sonic moments give way to abrupt ruptures, creating a soundscape filled with unease and longing. Guitars both soothe and suffocate, capturing the claustrophobic feeling of trying to connect when language no longer suffices.

Emotionally Charged and Viscerally Expressive

Like much of The Lost Boys’ work, “Reaching” thrives in tension. It’s searching, exposed, and emotionally intense—a sonic embodiment of what it means to grasp for meaning in moments of detachment.

“Reaching is a small, stretching song that tries to make sense of — or at least make something of — an unwanted silence. The sonic equivalent of shouting into a pillow,” says Lucy Kruger.

The result is a powerful, deeply evocative piece that lingers long after the final note.
