What are Oris Watches? Well, Oris SA is a luxury maker of mechanical watches that are based in Switzerland. The brand was founded in 1904 by Georges Christian and Paul Cattin in a Swiss town of Holstein. The two of them named their watch brand after a book nearby, and that is when they began their industrial manufacturing of pocket watches. When it opened, Oris hired only 67 people.
By 1911, the watch brand had become the biggest company in Holstein that employed over 300 workers. For them to be able to attract more watchmakers, they built houses and apartments where their employees would be able to live. The company expanded so quickly that by the year 1929, it had already decided to add more factories.
