Rowlene Releases Powerful New EP: “Moments After”

South African SAMA-nominated artist Rowlene has officially unveiled her latest EP, Moments After, now streaming across all major platforms via ONErpm.

Marking a poignant return for the R&B and Afro-pop singer-songwriter, the six-track project is a deeply personal journey through healing, rediscovery, and emotional transformation.

Following the success of her singles “Breakaway” and “Don’t Give Up on Me”, which both charted on major South African radio stations, Moments After offers the full picture Rowlene has been ready to share.

The EP captures life in the emotional aftermath—after heartbreak, personal reckonings, and quiet awakenings that lead to inner peace.

“This project is really about what happens after the storm,” says Rowlene. “It’s about reclaiming yourself—your joy, your peace, your freedom—after heartbreak or any kind of emotional shift. Every song is a snapshot of that healing journey, from the painful reflections to the empowered release.”

Musically, Moments After blends live instrumentation with warm harmonies, alt-R&B textures, and soulful melodies that reflect Rowlene’s growth both as an artist and as a person. The result is a body of work that’s more intentional, grounded, and emotionally honest than ever before.

“This is the most ‘me’ I’ve ever sounded,” she explains. “I’m no longer making music to meet expectations. I’m making it from a place of clarity and self-ownership—not just as an artist, but as a woman.”

Much of the songwriting was inspired by real-life experiences—difficult conversations, emotional confrontations, and the subtle but powerful moments of self-awareness that come during personal shifts. One key realization, she shares, was recognizing how often she had compromised her own peace for the sake of keeping others comfortable. That revelation became the emotional core of the EP.

With Moments After, Rowlene invites listeners into a space that’s both vulnerable and empowering

Whether you’re navigating your own storm or standing in the quiet after it, the EP offers comfort and clarity.

“I hope it feels like a safe space for anyone going through it,” she says. “Whether you’re in the thick of it or just coming out, I want this music to remind you that healing is messy, beautiful, and completely valid. It’s okay to let go of what no longer serves you.”

Fans in Cape Town will have the chance to experience Moments After live at the official release party on Thursday, 12 June at North North Social Club. It promises to be a night of raw performance, intimate storytelling, and connection. Get your tickets HERE.
